Coach Training Initiative 2022

To support the demands of our growing International 420 Class fleet, the Irish 420 Class has arranged certified Club Coach training with Graeme Grant on 19/20 November for new coaches in all of our 420 Class Clubs throughout Ireland. Sailors who are moving to college or are no longer campaigning are encouraged to become coaches and mentors for the next generation of 420 Sailors. The Class would like to harness their experience and enthusiasm so that they will be able to share their vast knowledge with the next generation of sailors. The association has agreed to cover 50% of the training costs.
Following a two day intensive training programme led by Graeme Grant, participants will return to their club and lead coaching initiatives over the coming year with the 420s fleet. One of the sessions will be observed by Graeme or a member of the Irish Sailing certification team.
Class Training sessions have been organised for 20 to 24 February in Kinsale YC and there are tentative dates for further class coaching on 17/18 March, 20/21 May and Pre Nationals in mid-August in Waterford Harbour SC
The closing date for applications will be Monday 23 October 2022.
