- Membership allows participation in all 420 Class competitions and coaching in Ireland.
- Membership of the Association also facilities participation in international events, in particular the Youth Sailing World Championships, the Junior European and World Championships which are restricted events where qualification or nomination by the class association for these events is required. Membership also allows members vote at 420 Class Association meetings.
- Full membership of the Association is open to all current members of a Yacht or Sailing Club. The Yacht or Sailing Club must be affiliated to the ISA.
- Organisations such as schools and clubs may become Affiliated Member Societies but they or their members are not able to vote or to participate in events.
The annual subscription is payable on the 1st January of each year by all members and the subscription will be for that calendar year.

Membership costs €25 per sailor and is payable through Stripe.
