The Class Association are pleased to confirm that training has been organised for Sunday the 1st and Monday the 2nd April (Bank Holiday) at the National Yacht Club, this is the weekend prior to the Volvo Irish Sailing Youth Pathway Nationals which start on the following Thursday. The National Yacht Club will also be the base for the 420’s during the Volvo Youth Nationals, the event will be jointly hosted with the Royal St. George Yacht Club. The training will be led by Graeme Grant.
This first bank holiday weekend in April is a busy time for the National Yacht Club and many of the cruisers will still be on the hard standing in front of the club undergoing final work before being craned in. Due to the shortage of space on the hardstanding that weekend we are limited to 12 boats in the training group and those wishing to attend should sign up for the training through the link on the National Yacht Club website.
The Association acknowledges that training on the weekend prior to the Volvo Youth Nationals may not suit all sailors, particularly those travelling a distance to the event. We would like to hear from sailors who would like to consider training on Wednesday the 4th April. Space will be available for all boats arrviing at the event from the morning of the 4th. Those sailors interested in training on the alternative day should email president@sail420.com.
