The committee are working hard to complete plans for the 2016 420 World Championships in San Remo Italy and the full details of all the arrangements will be enclosed with the formal offers of team places, sent out on or around the 6th April. At this stage we can confirm a number of important points:
- The preferred flights for sailors to travel on are as follows – Out: Aer Lingus – Dublin to Nice – 13th July 2016 – EI544 – Departs 1050. Return: Aer Lingus – Nice to Dublin – 23rd July 2016 – EI549 – Departs 2300. Transport to San Remo and later back to Nice Airport will be provided for these flights.
- Accommodation will be in apartments within approx 10 minutes walking distance of the club. In the main, meals will be self-catering with local restaurants being used for some nights.
- The budget is under constant review and we are pleased to say that we have already achieved a reduction in the overall cost. An update on the budgeted figure will be given in the communication on the 6th.
With a total of 8 boats now expected to travel, the World Championships will be a wonderful opportunity to experience competition at the highest level and to meet sailors from across the globe.
