420 Munster Championships and ISA Youth Nationals

The 420 sailors had a busy Easter holiday, kicking off with the Munster Championships in KYC and finishing with the ISA Youth Nationals in Schull.  The Munster Championships and Youth Nationals are the two selector events for the team for the 42 Junior Europeans in La Rochelle, France in August.

We are delighted to welcome new sailors to the fleet.  New crews,  Tara Flood and Lucy Bolger, Alexander Rumball and Enzo Michel, Lizzie McDowell and Orlagh Thompson, and Richard Roberts and Conor Leyden all competed in their first 420 event.

The Munsters were run by PRO, John Stallard, over the Easter weekend.  After six races in varied conditions,  with great competition, the event was won on the last leg of the last race by the 2009 National Champions, Iarlaith Kennedy and Rob Lehane.   Close on their heels, were Cian O Regan and Scott Flanigan, following by Jenny Andreasson and Jane Butler in 3rd position.
